Costa Rica

Costa Rica is a small country in Central America known for its diverse and abundant wildlife. The country is home to a wide variety of species, including monkeys, sloths, jaguars, toucans, and thousands of species of insects and other invertebrates. One of the most iconic animals found in Costa Rica is the scarlet macaw, a large and colorful parrot that can be found in the lowland rainforests of the country.

In addition to the rainforests, Costa Rica also has a wide variety of other habitats, including cloud forests, wetlands, and dry forests. These different habitats are home to many different species of animals, including the tapir, puma, and the giant anteater. The country also has a large number of national parks and protected areas, which help to preserve these habitats and the animals that live there.

Costa Rica is also known for its sea turtles, which come to the country’s beaches to lay their eggs. The most common species of sea turtle found in Costa Rica is the olive ridley sea turtle, which can be found on the country’s Pacific and Caribbean coasts. Other species of sea turtles that can be found in Costa Rica include the leatherback and the hawksbill. These turtles are protected by the government and many conservation organizations work to protect their habitats and ensure their survival.
